Where your poll goes, and who can read it
A private poll is private on this site. It still has to be read by the models you ask. This page says who sees what, so you can decide what belongs in a question before you write it. It explains; the privacy policy and terms govern.
What stays private
Only your account can see a poll, its runs and its answers. Nothing you write is published here, and no other account can browse it. Mind Polling's own systems read every poll, because they have to in order to run it.
What we send, and to whom
For each answer, Mind Polling sends the provider of the model you chose the rendered prompt (your wording, plus the one-line answer instruction) and the settings for that call. Nothing else: no name, no email, no account, no other poll. OpenRouter is also told the request comes from Mind Polling, and OpenAI is asked not to store the response. With search on, the provider's search tool reads the web on its side, under its own terms.
What each provider says it does with what developers send it, read on its own page on Nov. 4, 2026:
| Provider | Trains on it? | How long it keeps it | Can its people read it? | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| OpenAI | No, unless the customer opts in | Abuse-monitoring logs up to 30 days | Content its safety systems flag may be reviewed | Your data |
| Anthropic | No, by default | Deleted within 30 days; content flagged for a policy violation up to 2 years | Not stated in a general policy | Training, retention |
| Google, paid tier | No | Logged for a limited period to detect misuse; 30 days when search grounding is used | Not stated for the paid tier | Gemini API terms |
| xAI | No | Deleted within 30 days unless flagged for a terms violation | Authorised staff, when legally required, such as security incidents or misuse | Enterprise FAQ |
| OpenRouter | No; the provider it routes to follows its own policy | Prompts and replies not stored by default | Not stated | Privacy, data collection |
Google's terms differ between its paid and free tiers; the row above is its paid tier, where prompts are not used for training.
What we keep
Every answer is kept with its prompt, the order its options were shown in, the settings sent, the model that answered, the raw reply, its outcome, its tokens and its charge. That record is what makes a result checkable, and it is what you download.
Before you ask something sensitive
A journalist's question can be sensitive before the story runs. If a wording would reveal a source, an unpublished finding or someone's personal information, it goes to every provider you chose, under the terms above. Write it so that it does not need to, or ask us first.
